We live in an overstimulating world designed to hijack our attention from living in the moment. Social media, the news, the demands of family, friends, work, the state of the world–there is so much around us that yanks us out of our experiences and our bodies, causing anxiety and disconnection.
I have found that one of the most important functions of therapy is to help ground people in this moment, the one right in front us, in the here and now. My approach as a therapist is to help bring people’s minds, hearts, and bodies into the present moment. I also seek to help people identify and explore what they are feeling emotionally.
I know from personal experience that just being with, and acknowledging all of the messy, conflicting emotions inside of us, can be daunting. And yet, with support and compassion, I believe it is possible to live a more grounded, present life.
I seek to make the therapy space one in which my clients can feel safe, nurtured, and supported, while also feeling free to explore, uncover, and grow. I am here to listen and collaborate with you, as I believe it is you who knows the most about your own experience.
