About Me

Education and Experience

I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) working with individual adults 18 and over. I graduated with a Master of Science in Social Work from the University of Texas at Austin, Steve Hicks School of Social Work, and received my Bachelor of Arts in American Studies from Wesleyan University.

I have professional experience in a wide array of settings, including a university mental health and counseling center, PHP/IOP program (Partial-hospitalization/Intensive Outpatient) for people experiencing anxiety, mood disorders, and chronic pain and health conditions. I also have extensive experience working with older adults in hospice, as well as in nursing homes, long-term and memory care, and assisted living facilities. I have also provided in-home counseling for those with chronic health conditions.

Background, Beliefs, Values

I understand that considering therapy can be a scary process. Many people, especially those from marginalized communities, may have had prior negative experiences with other healthcare providers. I strive to be humble and approach therapy from a place of deep listening and not-knowing, rather than assuming.

I am a white, queer, cisgender male therapist (he/him/his) and I strive to be as self-aware as I can be as to how my privilege has informed, and continues to inform my work. I make self-reflection a daily part of my life, although I acknowledge that I am still deeply imperfect, and this work is ongoing, with no end-date. I care about making work with my clients safe, welcoming, and non-judgmental, and I strive to improve myself to be able to make this happen.

I welcome clients of all racial backgrounds, ethnicities, sexual orientations, gender expressions and identities, body sizes, religions, ability statuses, and ages over 18.
